When I was watching Milk with some coworkers last month at the E Street cinema, I saw a preview for a movie called Revolutionary Road, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. It looked really good, and now I really want to see it.
And doing some research, it sounds like a very intriguing novel. As we all know, books are often so much better than the movie. Has anyone else read it before?
So in the last month I've been reading Umberto Eco's The Island of the Day Before (not finished yet so I can't decide how I feel about it yet) and Alan Weisman's The World Without Us - a fascinating scientific look at what the planet would look like if humans disappeared. Needless to say the environment would breath easier. But it also delves into how our cities and monuments will decay. You'll never look a city the same way again.
